Private equity and venture capital internships

Private equity funds buy stakes in private companies, work with their management and sell years later. Interns screen opportunities, build LBO models, read data rooms and write investment memos. Venture capital follows the same logic on young companies, with more sourcing and less modelling.

Teams are small and hire few interns, often students who have already done an investment banking, audit or consulting internship.

What recruiters read for

A reasoned view. Name a deal or a portfolio company of the firm, say in two sentences what you think of it, and show an analysis you carried out yourself.
